Pixel Watch AMA got Leaked: Size, Screen Bezel and other Details

Ensuing real-life images a day before, the person in possession of pixel watch did a Reddit AMA of sort on Google wearable leak and disclosing more details such as the size.

As the physical hardware got revealed, now all are nooping about UI experience and how the Google version of wear OS 3 looks like. About software picture we can only see the “G” boot screen. The image was revealed few weeks before and the watch is now completely dead.

One of the Reddit user tagtech414 tried bring it back to life using a 2qi chargers and Power Share from Samsung Fold 3 along with Pixel 6 but the charger was only able to detect it for some moments and again stopped. Not supporting the battery share capability that is usually found in Pixel phones is little strange for the pixel watch, therefore Google may have put limitation on charging on this prototype to specified source of internal power.

In terms of Hardware, the AMA disclosed that the Pixel watch is “hardly ½” thick and 1 ½ “in diameter. That is approx. 12.7 mm and 38.1 mm. We will come to know about the exact size of the pixel watch very soon as the Redditor intended to know about the leak using digital calipers. If we compare, the 40MM Galaxy watch is 40.4 x 39.3 x 9.8mm not including the health sensor, and the Apple Watch series 7 possess a depth of 10.7mm.

On the rear side, you can see the Latin text on the perimeter that acts like a placeholder in prototype phase. The bulbous rear is round in shape for which there is minimum contact with the wrist while the Reddit user credits by offering a premium feel to the pixel watch. They also made a comparison of the bottom cap shaped crown and the button present above it with the Apple watch and said that it has a identical feeling.

Just above the crown you can find a big flat button and the brown also clicks in. A fair tight low travel click which has good similarity with the Apple Watch.  There is also a button that connects the strap looking to catch and locking the band in.

They push inward and there is a small lip under every button so that the bands catch and lock in. In the left side there are new shot of speaker with another hole just above it for microphone. If there will be another leaked image, it will be helpful in knowing about the boundaries of the display and about the thickness of the Pixel Watch Bezels.

  • The New Policy For Play Store Will Close Third Party Call Recordings From May 11

The New Policy For Play Store Will Close Third Party Call Recordings From May 11

One of the essential things of custom OEM skins like MIUI and ColorOS is a built-in call recorder. It is also available in Google Pixel phones, incorporated into the phone application. But because of regional laws, it is not available on Android phones. But if your phone does not have this functionality,

you can install any third-party application from the Google Play Store to get your work done. Unfortunately, in the coming days, there will be a change in Google Play Policy which will close all third party call recording applications once and for all.

In recent years Google has dejected call recording on Android phones. With Android 6.0, Google slew official call recording API that facilitates developers easily use the call recording function in their application. This prompted the application developers to search for some unofficial ways to allow call recording. Again Google close some of the workarounds in Android 9.0. In Android 10, the company wholly blocked call recording using a microphone.

For the last option, developers use the Android accessibility service to offer call recording on those devices that run Android 10 and above that. Unfortunately, Google has announced that it will not allow third-party applications to use accessibility API for call audio recording, thus ending the third-party call recording apps. This is going to be implemented from May 11.

In a recent webinar, Google clarified that this change would only impact third-party apps. For example, during the call audio recording, the person on the other end remains unaware that the recording is taking place. So, suppose that app is the default dialer on the phone and is also pre-loaded. In that case, accessibility ability is not needed to access the incoming audio stream and thus would not be in violation. As this elucidates the current policy, the new language is applicable for all applications starting on May 11.

Google has not clarified how it aims to implement this policy change. It is also not clear if Google will remove all third-party apps that do not comply with the changing policy from Play Store after May 11.

  • Instagram is Requesting Not To Repost Tiktoks To Reels

Instagram is Requesting Not To Repost Tiktoks To Reels

Instagram is bringing in some new creator focus alterations to its platform. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, said these changes would ensure all credit goes to whoever deserves it.

The new feature includes three major changes: Everyone can access product tags so that you can tag any product in your post, the second one is you can allocate yourself to a category such as “photographer” or “rapper”, and that specific category will show off each time you get tagged in any post, and the third one is Instagram will start promotion of original content on its platform.

In a video, Mosseri clearly explained everything about the new features. He said if you create something new from scratch, you will get more credit than re-sharing things that you get from somebody else.

In addition, they will try and do even more to try and give value to original content, specifically when compared with reposted content. According to Mosseri, it is not a new thing to value original content, but Instagram will lean more in that direction.

Meta has mentioned that it will consider Facebook and Instagram more creator-focusing platforms than a medium to connect with friends. Therefore, both platforms are investing in various shopping tools, different ways for creators for building up audiences, and several other things that they think will lure creators for stopping Tiktokers as well as YouTubers and being Facebookers and Instagrammers.

In this effort, Reels are the central part. According to the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, these short-form videos are one of the rapidly expanding content formats, and they are now present both on Facebook and Instagram. But many users feel this reel is a clone of TikTok, and thus, they repost it along with the TikTok logo.

One of the best ways to decrease this practice is to bury it with poor rankings. This is what Mosseri is planning to do.

Considering how Instagram will determine what is original, Mosseri said that it is hard, and they will recapitulate it with time. This change will be a big problem for accounts of aggregators, most of which are popular sources of trends and memes but are mostly accused of stealing the content and the credit from the creators.

Mosseri further tweeted that as they depend more and more on recommendations, it is important not to give more value to aggregators.

Giving priority to original content on Meta social products is not a new concept, nor is the fact that maximum stuff on Facebook and Instagram tends to be plagiarized.

Meta has the maximum number of audiences, but TikTok and Twitter are platforms where all new memes and trends are created. If Facebook and Instagram want to be successful platforms, they need to find a way to flip that. And by initiating turning in the most powerful knob, it’s ranking algorithm that will decide what billions of people see daily will be one of the most important moves.

Another idea is paying creators more but on the condition that Meta appears to be decreasing its reels payouts.

  • To Bypass “Harmful “Google AMP Pages, Brave Introduces A Feature

To Bypass “Harmful “Google AMP Pages, Brave Introduces A Feature

Google claims that the primary purpose of AMP is enhancing website performance by creating “user-first experiences”. However, brave, the maker of Chromium-based browser, has hosted a new feature known as De-AMP that will facilitate users to avoid Google Accelerated mobile pages framework and visit the website directly.

Brave was withering in the assessment of the Google AMP framework, thereby appealing in a blog post released on Tuesday that the framework is detrimental to privacy and assists Google to monopolize and have reasonable control over the web direction.

In the post, Brave said that an ethical web should be the first web of the user wherein users control their browsing and are well-aware of whom they are communicating.

Unfortunately, AMP is not compatible with the user’s first web. So, in the long list of Brave features where he puts users first on the Web, De-AMP got added. De-AMP will prohibit users from visiting AMP pages together by rewriting links and URLs wherever possible. And when that is not possible, Brave will watch as pages are getting fetched and redirect all users away from the AMP pages even before the page is rendered, prohibiting AMP/Google code from getting loaded and implemented.

Brave also announced that the De-AMP feature is available in its Nightly and Beta versions. It will be soon allowed in the upcoming 1.38 Desktop and Android versions before it is released on iOS. Google, on its website, has claimed that AMP’s purpose is enhancing the performance of the website by creating a user-first experience.

This is not the first time that the maker of privacy browser has gone after Google, as Brave previously blamed Google for breaching one of the EU General Data Protection Regulation Principles surrounding agreement for data collection. In addition, a union of 10 US states trailed a lawsuit against Google in 2020, claiming that the company uses the AMP framework to control advertisements.

The internal documents of Google deny the public image of Google engineers for having fun at the sunny Mountain View campus while attempting to make the whole world a better place to live in. Instead, to fortify its dominance over the online display markets, Google has repeatedly and shamelessly violated customer protection laws and antitrust. The coalition said this all in its legal complaint.

  • Here’s Something About The Near-Final Look Of The Google Pixel Watch And Its Curved Design

Here’s Something About The Near-Final Look Of The Google Pixel Watch And Its Curved Design

You might have been hearing about the Google Pixel watch for a long, and it seems it has finally leaked at this year’s Google I/O.

The first near-to-final look of the Google pixel watch is out today, and it shows the final design of the next wearable Google. On 91 mobiles, Evan Blass shared a part of the circular watch with its curved design. The display is only the flat surface that you can see, what we can’t see in the image is how Google went on to great lengths with the watch glass for extending the curvature all along towards the rear piece.

The crown also emphasizes that flawless design with the stem subtly extending out from the glass at a position of 3 o’clock. Google has not hidden the stem by making it silver like the crown, which is wide, but instead, it is short and a bit evocative of the bottle cap.

The face of the watch is the same as the one that was previously revealed in December. It has a time with date compilation with a no-day display, and the idea is sourced from Fitbit. Then there is a display of steps heart rate, which unveils the statistic overview. All things are present in yellow, green color. The last thing that we can see is a white color dot that shows that you have some notification.

A very interesting question was raised from the leakage of this watch body. With such a design, can Google provide you with varied body colors? By seeing the pixel watch head-on, you might not see the device undercarriage. But to assist in selling the flawless design, it is better when the body is black or dark in color.

The company might also get away by offering just a single color and emphasizing offering various bands, which is yet to leak. Questions are also arising on how durable the design is going to be.

  • Logitech’s Lift Is A New Affordable Excellent Mouse

Logitech’s Lift Is A New Affordable Excellent Mouse

Logitech today announced its wireless vertical mouse called Lift, priced at $69.99 in multiple colors along with both right and left-hand options. It has a vertically sloped design that positions your hand at a 57-degree angle for good ergonomics. In addition, the strain on your wrist reduces a lot when you use it compared to the traditional mouse, as you will be holding the mouse like you are shaking hands with someone.

The Lift does not have all features as MX vertical is priced at $99.99, but it can be a good option if you do not want to spend much. It does not have USB –C charging; instead, it runs on a single AA battery that can last up to two years, as claimed by Logitech.

The Lift ditched the graceful design of the MX vertical with something more simple and playful. It has a rubber grip to remain snug to your palm, and maximum key functionality is present. The mouse consists of two primary buttons: a scroll wheel allowing a smooth and quiet scrolling, two thumb buttons, and a DPI switching button. In the bottom part, there is one button that toggles in between one of three devices you can connect your Lift to.

This mouse supports the Logitech flow, which is the company’s unique feature allowing the mouse for getting used simultaneously on various computers even though they do run on the same OS. You will require Logi options along with an app running on both of the computers, after which the cursor can travel in between two PC. The app can also be used for copy-pasting files between two machines.

Logitech takes in its new Bolt USB receiver with the Lift so that you can connect to the OC having a USB-A port quickly. When compared with the previously combined receiver, this will boast more security. Or you can use its Bluetooth function, which does not need a receiver. If you want to use this vertical mouse, the transition will not be that hard. Other than accidentally knocking your hand into the Life, the learning curve is not that bad, as this mouse contains the same button layout as some mouse you might be accustomed to. If you are thinking about a vertical mouse, then Life can be a good option for starting since its price is less than $100.

  • Google Wallet Will Make A Return

Google Wallet Will Make A Return

Google wallet is good place for managing your card, pass and many more things.

It seems Google is working on bringing its wallet back in a form after it made Google wallet part of the Google Pay. Mishaal Rahman said that the company will create a wallet interface for Google play services which will facilitate you in accessing and managing your payment and transit card, rewards memberships, passes and many more things.

At present you are managing most of these in Google Pay and it seems like you will get access to the new wallet from the app itself and according to Rahman you can use it for making all contactless payments. It also seems that the cards that you will put into your wallet is easily accessible from different places because a link is there in the screenshot that says “learn how passes in your wallet appears across Google.

In the year 2011. Google Wallet was initiated as Google NFC payment application serving as a platform for storing all of your payment cards in digital form. Then it started evolving as a digital payment services to be a Venmo competitor prior to getting folded along with Android pay and became Google Pay in the year 2018. Since then the app has totally revamped and turned into something more than just an app that you were using to send money to your friends and store your digital cards.

The transition was quite confusing for some people.  The fact that Google Pay is making an attempt to manage everything in terms of payment does not help. If Google will bring back wallet as a different location for managing your cards, it assist in focusing Google Pay experience back to paying at the stores and sending your friends money.

  • Square Enix Babylon’s Fall Last Week Got Less Than 10 Concurrent Players

Square Enix Babylon’s Fall Last Week Got Less Than 10 Concurrent Players

Babylon’s Fall is Square Enix’s live service game and is the latest in a long line of other titles in the genre created by Platinum Games. The developer is famous worldwide for some adrenaline-driven action games, with some of the best examples being the Bayonetta series, Revengeance and Nier, Automata Nier and Metal Gear Rising. Automata was a prominent association between Square Enix and Platinum Games, and Babylon Fall has the same hack and slashes combating system as Automata while also being an action RPG. There is also Babylons Fall and Nier Automata collaboration held for players to participate for a limited time.

But the game is seeing much less fanfare and less critical and commercially acceptance, with so many reviews in the lower part of the spectrum. Even though some reviews acclaimed its combat, they also attacked the structure and progression system of the game. This is quite obvious with Babylons Fall’s rough launch on PC with very few players who were playing the game contemporarily. With such a hostile acceptance by fanfare, it is not surprising that few players who were playing have also left.

As per SteamCharts, there are hardly a hundred concurrent players, with an average number of players playing Babylons Fall daily. But previously, it was also mentioned on the website that the game reached an all-time low based on concurrent player count. Statistics also show that merely eight people played the game concurrently at one point in the last week on April 12.

The problem with Babylons Fall continued lingering around the game, and its impact was seen with a consistent decrease in the number of players compared with last month. SteamCharts accounts that in March 2022, the number of concurrent players peaked at 1100, with only 267 players playing daily. The average concurrent player count in the last 30 days was about 136, with the peak number of players at 509, which is half of the March peak.

Besides the declining number of players and boredom among fans, the developer also stated that it would continue working on the game. This means there will be two more seasons of content for Babylons Fall, introducing a new game mode besides updating the difficulty of some modes and quests. This new season of content will bring in some new players, and those playing will remain hooked. But it all depends on how some players hop on every day, and this outcome seems quite unlikely.

  • Shin Megami Tensei V Reaches New Milestone with 1 Million Copies Sold

Shin Megami Tensei V Reaches New Milestone with 1 Million Copies Sold

Atlus has announced that its Nintendo Switch RPG Shin Megami Tensei 5 has sold 1 million copies worldwide.

Shin Megami Tensei V has now sold 1 million copies globally, as per Atlus’ official Twitter page.

This figure is based on both physical and digital download shipments.

To commemorate the occasion, Atlus has released some brand-new artwork of the Nahobino you control for most of the game, created by Character Designer Masayuki Doi.

On November 11, 2021, Shin Megami Tensei V was released internationally for the first time.

The game still prioritises action and turn-based fights above story components, and you can easily spend countless hours exploring before encountering a significant plot point. Despite this, the game represents a departure from previous instalments in the franchise.

This development comes months after the franchise reached another key milestone.

Atlus said Shin Megami Tensei V had sold 800,000 units in Famitsu’s New Year’s 2022 article, which aggregated greetings from 60 Japanese creators.

It had already surpassed Shin Megami Tensei IV’s lifetime sales in less than two months, making it the most popular entry in the franchise.

There has never been a more exciting time to be a show fan.

With Soul Hackers 2 releasing this August on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, it’s fair to assume that Atlus and Sega see worth in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise beyond Persona.
