A snooping bug impacts some of the pixel owners where the ringtone, notification sound, and alarm sound is changing randomly on Google devices. As a result, many reports are coming where users can hear sounds that are different from the ones they have set when they are getting a call, alert, or any notification. It is pretty disturbing and might cause you not to think of even checking your phone.
Some random sounds are like the files that the end-users cannot select by using the sound selector. The bug also impacted the Pixel 6 Pro unit, which the users use over at 9 to 5 Google. But the issue is not too wide as only a few reports are floating around.
These issues started arising after the recent release of the security update in April. Even though it fixed many irritating issues, which also included a significant bug in the camera that made all selfies green in color, it introduced a new bug to some of the pixel devices.
The good news is that you can fix the issues by heading onto your phone’s Sound and Vibration settings and reselecting your old ringtone and other alert sounds. Hopefully, they will stay put after selecting. Two Reddit users raised issues that they could not get their old ringtones and another unique sound which implies the bug is also deleting some of the old ringtone files.
Next time your Pixel phone starts sounding slightly different, it’s better to head on to your phone setting and check if your ringtones are changed or missing.
