YouTube TV Finally Introduced Picture in Picture Mode (PIP) on iOS

YouTube TV Picture in Picture Mode iPhone iPad

YouTube made a good announcement on Wednesday for iOS 15+ users on Tweeter. The company said that its picture-in-picture mode for YouTube TV on iOS devices with iOS 15 or more is available now.

In February, YouTube chief product officer Neal Mohon had vowed on The Vergecast that the YouTube picture in picture mode was on its way to getting available for iOS 15+ users. This feature was available for Android users for many years, but now iOS users can also avail this feature.

YouTube Picture in picture mode will facilitate iOS users to watch YouTube TV even after navigating away from the YouTube TV app. For example, suppose you are watching your favorite match on YouTube TV but want to check your Twitter account to know about people’s reactions to an incident that just took place in the field. In such cases, this picture-in-picture feature comes handy.

But the PiP feature is not available for all users of the YouTube app but premium subscribers. The feature is still in its testing phase, and if you are a premium subscriber, you can try this feature till April 8th.

In February, Google had said to MacRumors that it is planning to enable the PiP feature for non-premium subscribers but does not have any update regarding that. However, we can hope for the feature to be available for all iOS users, whether premium or not in the coming months.
